Frequently Asked

What patients (and prescribers) ask first.

What does a compounding pharmacy do?

A compounding pharmacy prepares prescription medications at the dose, strength, and formulation your provider prescribes — when a commercially manufactured product doesn't exist or doesn't fit your clinical picture. At Magnolia, we focus on patient-specific 503A compounding under PCAB-accredited standards.

Do I need a prescription to use Magnolia?

Compounded medications require a prescription from your healthcare provider. Our pharmacist consultation is free — we'll talk through whether a compounded approach might fit your situation and how to start the conversation with your provider. Supplements do not require a prescription.

Do you ship outside of Texas?

Compounded prescriptions are only available to patients within Texas. Pharmacist-curated supplements ship across the U.S.

What's the difference between compounded medication and what I get from a regular pharmacy?

Most prescriptions are filled with manufactured medications at fixed commercial strengths. Compounded medications are prepared at our lab to your provider's exact specification — useful when commercial doses, ratios, or formulations don't fit a patient's clinical picture.

Are providers welcome to talk with your pharmacy team?

Yes — provider communication is core to how Magnolia operates. We coordinate directly with your office on refills, titration, and patient questions. Providers can request portal access through the Prescribers section.

If your prescription doesn't fit, a pharmacist consultation is where the next step begins.
